Your obstacles will melt away, if instead of cowering before them, you make up your mind to walk boldly through them." Daily Guru

About

Biophile Magazine is published every two months, in February, April, June, August, October and December. Deadlines for advertising and article submissions are the 10th day of the month preceding publication.

Our mission is to impart knowledge with truth and integrity for the highest good of all. Biophile is not affiliated to any religious, political or philosophical ideology or organisation.
Our ethos is one of co-operation and sharing.

Biophile deals with matters close to the heart of everyone who shares our concern for the future of our planet and species, and who aspires to lead an ethical, environmentally sound life, in harmony with all of earth’s creatures.

From the Editor

As you are, I’m sure, aware, it is a time of great change on Earth. Humanity urgently needs to take heed of the messages coming through so loud and clear from nature and our own bodies. The majority of the 6.4 billion people living on Earth are unaware of the crisis that we are in. Even though environmental issues are being addressed more and more, apathy and ignorance still prevail.

The majority of us have forgotten that we are part of an inter-connected, inter-dependent system and that, by not living according to the laws of nature, we are destroying life and the natural rhythms and systems that have taken billions of years to evolve.

It is this sense of urgency and a need to educate and provide workable solutions that has motivated us to launch Biophile. There is no other magazine like it in South Africa at present, and we believe that it is not really a matter of choice: it is essential to start creating awareness amongst the masses and motivating them into action.
The magazine has 64 pages packed with “news behind the news” and cutting edge information from our local researchers and from people all over the world.

Biophile is printed on 100% recycled paper. We print 7 000 copies every two months and they are distributed into the major centres and sold at CNA and Exclusive Books.
It is also sold from Health Shops, smaller stationery and book shops.
The cover is printed in full colour on both sides and the rest in one colour. While we intend to run the operation as a going concern, our philosophy is very much one of “giving back” and that ethos will be very apparent in the magazine. We will not compromise our ethics and integrity for the sake of money.
